Profile

I am a textile artist living in North West Connemara. Originally from Finglas in Dublin, I studied Furniture Design in the College of Marketing and Design and completed a H. Dip in Limerick. Having worked in timber research, the furniture industry and education, I moved to Connemara where I have been teaching art and design to adults locally for the last five years.

My training as an interior furniture designer coupled with the fact that my father was an upholsterer has given me a deep interest in natural fibres. My interest in textiles has led me to experiment with various constructive and decorative techniques. By combining these techniques I aim to collage an interpretation of the elements of the region.
